Recycle your Electronic Waste for FREE
Title:
Recycle your Electronic Waste for FREE
When:
12 Jun 2010 - 13 Jun 2010
Category:
City of Armadale

Description

People often say that "If it sounds to good to be true, it probably is" .. well for one weekend only, ignore those people!! Because on Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th June, you can recycle your old, unused and unwanted electronic equipment such as computers, televisions or game consoles at the City of Armadale's Landfill and Recycling Facility for FREE!!

This FREE electronic waste recycling weekend is a great chance to have a clean-out at your place and is also available to residents from outside the City.

Items that will be accepted by the City of Armadale at the FREE E-Waste recycling weekend:
• Computers
• Televisions
• Home office equipment
• Electronic games and consoles
• Entertainment equipment
• Mobile phones
• Overhead projectors

In addition, the City also accepts white goods - fridges, freezers etc - and dry cell batteries at the site every day at no charge.

You cannot bring kitchen and household appliances, hazardous waste, contaminated equipment, broken glass screens or monitors.

The facility - located in Hopkinson Road, Hilbert (formerly Brookdale) - will be open from 9am to 4pm on both days.

Due to the high cost of processing and recycling electronic waste, the City would normally charge $12 per CRT [cathode ray tube] screen delivered to the landfill facility.

The FREE E-Waste recycling weekend is a joint initiative of waste authorities including Rivers Regional Council, of which the City of Armadale is a member.
