Bushcare and Environmental Advisory Committee
The Bushcare and Environmental Advisory Committee (BEAC) is a Council committee of 12 community representatives. The committee meets bi-monthly to discuss environmental issues in the City.
By doing so it:
- provides a link between the community and Council
- facilitates communication between community groups and individuals concerned with the protection of the natural environment
- advises Council on environmental issues
- assists Council to review and create policies
- assists in the development and review of conservation strategies
- fosters and facilitates care and concern for the natural environment
Council appoints members to BEAC every two years. Calls for nominations are publicly advertised.
