Bushcare and Environmental Advisory Committee

The Bushcare and Environmental Advisory Committee (BEAC) is a Council committee of 12 community representatives. The committee meets bi-monthly to discuss environmental issues in the City.

By doing so it:

  • provides a link between the community and Council
  • facilitates communication between community groups and individuals concerned with the protection of the natural environment
  • advises Council on environmental issues
  • assists Council to review and create policies
  • assists in the development and review of conservation strategies
  • fosters and facilitates care and concern for the natural environment

Council appoints members to BEAC every two years. Calls for nominations are publicly advertised.
